Now celebrating our 17th anniversary, this one is a special year for the Academy. To fulfill our commitment to "Serve those in Service to Others," and to remain connected to our community of maritime professionals at the "deckplate" level, we've realized the best way to accomplish our objectives within our Strategic Plan is to become a Member-Driven Organization.
By becoming a member, you can help drive the direction of the maritime law enforcement profession, identify areas of need, and vett solutions, equipment and products through a community of peers. Through this "Whole of Community" approach, small harbormaster agencies in New England can join the conversation with the Nation's largest marine unit in Florida, or sheriff's deputies patrolling the Mississippi can collaborate with natural resource officers patrolling the Great Lakes. INDIVIDUAL OFFICER MEMBERSHIP
This membership is for sworn officers, military or public safety officials. Confirmation of employment is required before access to Academy resources is granted. Retired officers can also apply, and will be granted access once employment history is confirmed. Individual Officers are Voting Members of the Academy, and can take positions on committees, work groups, and product evaluation teams.

AGENCY MEMBERSHIP
For law enforcement, military, federal and public safety organizations with five or more officers that want to join as an organization, the agency and all of its personnel will enjoy all the benefits of an individual officer. In addition, the agency will get exclusive access to an initial FLEATS Program consultation and/or an ACTS Process consultation. Note that each member of your department, division or agency will receive individual membership credentials and confirmation, and are Voting Members of the Academy, eligible for positions on committees, work groups, and product evaluation teams.

CHAPTER MEMBERSHIP
We realize that there a many local, state or regional maritime officer organizations that exist throughout the country. For the first time, we are providing an opportunity to unify those organizations as one voice all across the Country (and the world), to give those groups access to national resources, and to expand the offerings to their members through the Academy. It is the essence of becoming true force multipliers. Chapters will work with Academy staff to facilitate workshops, conferences and training events, and bring best practices from all across the country to their membership. Chapter members will receive all the benefits of an individual officer and will receive individual membership credentials and confirmation, and are considered Voting Members of the Academy, eligible for positions on committees, work groups, and product evaluation teams.

ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP
For those non-sworn partners from the vendor, manufacturing and private sector who want to be a part of the Academy, they can become Associate Members. Associate members are individuals who will have access to our members through a business/industry forum, receive our newsletter and will be allowed to participate in workshops, conferences and webinars. They will also receive discounted rates for STAR Program product evaluations.

CORPORATE MEMBERSHIP
Companies that serve this community of maritime professionals and who want to enable all of their employees to be a part of the Academy, can become Corporate Members.
